Ha! I just got home with ingredients for two more. Now I’m wondering how I ever imagined I could wait a week.

I second that. Hard to corral the olives, capers and runaway chickpea

I’m also grill-less! I don’t know if we’re past pea season in MD yet, but I wanna to try these in the oven, maybe under a low broil (with a close eye to keep from burning)

My recommendations for others would be to triple the dressing and don’t skimp on the peanuts.

Comment on an iceberg wedge with blue cheese by SK https://smittenkitchen.com/2007/12/an-iceberg-wedge/#comment-2646156 Thu, 20 Jun 2024 22:09:18 +0000 http://smittenkitchen.com/2007/12/from-aruba-on-an-iceberg-wedge/#comment-2646156 Has anyone ever used frozen/defrosted buttermilk for this slaw dressing or in a similar recipe? Baking with it makes sense, but I wonder about something like this. Do you find any difference in the recipe when you use frozen/defrosted buttermilk, rather than fresh, in a salad dressing? Texture? Flavor? Any downsides? Thanks!

Comment on easy basque cheesecake by Cindy Gori https://smittenkitchen.com/2024/06/easy-basque-cheesecake/#comment-2646153 Thu, 20 Jun 2024 21:40:44 +0000 https://smittenkitchen.com/?p=73379#comment-2646153 This was so very delicious. I made it just as written in the food processor and baked it for 40 minutes at 450F. Such a tremendous payoff for so little work. I saw that ATK used an instant read thermometer to check doneness at 155F in the center; mine was a bit over that and perfectly done. This is my new favorite thing.
